The PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) is a voluntary, entry-level credential for individuals in the equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) profession who provide riding instruction and therapeutic value to people with disabilities. This may include mounted or unmounted work ethically partnering with an equine. PATH Intl. CTRIs have met established criteria and standards of practice in the field. They have demonstrated their knowledge of disabilities, equines, teaching and human-animal interactions. See the full job description here.

This certification program has been designed to meet the rigorous accreditation standards of the National Council of Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Submitting Your Application

Purchase the PATH Intl. Standards Course and Exam
Pay the application fee

Upon payment of the application fee, you will receive instructions for submitting your application via email or online upload.
Candidates whose applications are approved will receive an Authorization to Test letter following payment for the certification exam fee.

Taking the Certification Exam

The PATH Intl. CTRI Certification Exam is administered as a proctored, computer-based test delivered at approved testing centers. PATH Intl. has chosen the PearsonVUE testing center network to deliver the CTRI certification exam.

- Candidates must complete payment for the certification exam fee (refer to estimated costs provided above) to receive an Authorization to Test letter. Once in possession of an Authorization to Test letter, candidates must register directly with PearsonVUE to schedule an appointment to take the exam at the testing center of their choice.

- Visit the PATH Intl. certification exam webpage and click “Find a test center”  in the right-hand menu to search for centers nearest you.
