Patti Coyle

patti coylePatti began her professional career working in the banking and financial services industry for 25 years holding a variety of positions, including senior vice president of a major New England bank as well as attaining her Certified Financial Planning designation.

Upon retirement in 1995, Patti discovered the world of therapeutic riding through an old friend. After volunteering for Pegasus Therapeutic Riding in NY and CT for four years, she enrolled in the PATH Intl. Approved Instructor Training Course at High Hopes in Old Lyme, CT, successfully completing the course in April 1999. Patti is currently a PATH Intl. Certified Advanced Instructor who has taught therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted activities at both High Hopes and Pegasus Therapeutic Riding.

While at High Hopes (from 1999 until 2009), Patti was on the faculty where she taught and mentored instructors in training. Subsequently, she served as executive director of Pegasus Therapeutic Riding in Brewster, NY, from May 2004 to April 2012. In 2013, Patti returned to High Hopes where she currently serves as training and education director. In this role she provides leadership and direction for training and education activities to ensure that quality services are provided with trained faculty to meet the needs of High Hopes and the field of equine-assisted activities and therapies in a manner that reinforces best industry practices.

Patti has served PATH Intl. as a Lead Evaluator for on-site workshops and certifications, an Associate Evaluator for advanced certifications and Lead Site Visitor for accrediting centers. She has served on a number of PATH Intl. committees and acted as past Region 1 Representative. Patti currently serves on the PATH Intl. Governance Committee.

Patti was awarded the NARHA President’s Award in 2006, which was given in recognition of contributions through outstanding leadership, dedication and service to NARHA and the field of equine-assisted activities. Patti was also awarded the NARHA Volunteer Leadership Recognition Award for Programs and Standards in 2010.

I am passionate about the EAAT Industry, the work we do and the individuals we serve. I am looking forward to combining this passion with both my for-profit business skills and current nonprofit experience. I am excited about the work of PATH Intl. and the potential for the future of this field. I feel privileged to be a part of such a special group of people.
