PATH INTERNATIONAL

I’m a native Missourian, and although I was born and raised as a city kid in St. Louis (Go Cards!) I’m from a family that has always had a variety of animals as part of the household. I was that kid who got a pony for Christmas when I was 10 (oh yeah – I really did), and horses have been a part of my life ever since. My current household consists of two dogs, two cats, and five horses. My extended family includes two married children, six grandchildren, one more cat, three more dogs, and four more horses. It’s a family thing.

My professional background includes more than 25 years of financial management experience, primarily in the fields of healthcare and education. I hold a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia (MU), and I’m currently employed at MU as the Director of Business Administration for the College of Arts & Science. Previously, I was the Director of Finance for the MU School of Medicine for 14 years. So yes, I’m also a big MU Tigers fan!

I became involved with therapeutic riding 14 years ago when my children were graduating and leaving home, and I suddenly had time on my hands to fill. I began as a volunteer sidewalker and leader, and as I saw firsthand the truly amazing things that were happening in that arena, I became more and more involved. I earned my certification as a therapeutic riding instructor about nine years ago. I currently teach three classes a week (and it is always the best three hours of my week) at Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center, a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center in Columbia, MO. I also serve as an associate site visitor. I am an avid supporter of PATH Intl., and I believe the structure, services and support that the organization provides for members and member centers is a critical advantage for the continued growth and development of our industry.
