PATH Intl. Strides Magazine Honored Again by American Horse Publications

Denver—The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) is proud to announce that American Horse Publications (AHP) has again awarded PATH Intl. Strides, the association’s quarterly publication an award at its annual conference June 15-18 in Scottsdale, AZ.

The article “Rebuilding Trust Together” (Spring 2016) by Laurie Sakaeda won second place in the Equine-Related Human-Animal Bond category. Laurie is the founder and director of A Helping Hoof, PLLC in Grantsville, UT. She has presented at PATH Intl. and regional conferences on working with veterans with PTSD.

This is not the first time PATH Intl. has been honored by AHP. In 2013, PATH Intl. was the recipient of the Equine Industry Vision Award, recognizing innovation, leadership and service in the equine industry. In 2014, PATH Intl. Strides won second place for the Editorial Human-Animal Bond Photograph (Spring 2013), third place for the article “Riding Into the Wild” by Garry Stauber and Martha McNiel (Fall 2013), and the much-coveted General Excellence Award.

PATH Intl. thanks all the judges for their time and thoughtfulness on this annual endeavor. Special thanks go to American Horse Publications for their work on behalf of the equine publishing industry.

PATH Intl. congratulates the Strides staff for its continued excellence in furthering the knowledge and promoting the awareness of the equine-assisted activities and therapies industry throughout the world: Kaye Marks, managing editor; Karen Karvonen, editor; Sddita Blackburn, graphic designer; Lesley Shear, technical editor; Cher Smith, proofreader.

Past issues, including these award-winning issues, can be viewed on the Strides archive page on the PATH Intl. website.
