Last Call for Center Videos

Time is running out to submit your center videos for the fun conference contest. As a reminder, we aren't looking for promotional videos, but rather the videos that highlight your center's staff, instructors, participants and equines having a great time.  Email your videos to Cher Smith. For larger video files, mail a CD or flashdrive, or email Cher for Dropbox instructions. Note: We need the actual video, not a YouTube or Vimeo link. Submissions must be sent by October 10 to allow time for judging. Please include a photo/video release form with submission.

2016 PATH Intl. Photo Contest

PATH Intl. thanks all who submitted photos to the 2016 PATH Intl. photo contest. We had nearly 200 submissions this year. The quality of photos was excellent, and we had a difficult time narrowing it down! The photos captured so clearly the love exhibited between humans and horses, the joy of EAAT participants and the wonderful happenings at PATH Intl. Member Centers.

Champion: National Ability Center, Park City, UT
Reserve Champion: The Red Barn, Leeds, AL
Honorable Mention: Naples Equestrian Challenge, Naples, FL; Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center, Chagrin Falls, OH

Look for photos from award winners and other entrants in upcoming issues of PATH Intl. Strides, eNews, Facebook and the PATH Intl. website. Congratulations to the winners!

In Case You Missed It: Trek to Accreditation eNews

In the ongoing effort to communicate with members about the PATH Intl. steady course toward applying for National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation of the PATH Intl. Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification, the association introduced a regular eNews communication, the Trek to Accreditation eNews. This is another way for the association to keep members apprised of the process, completed tasks and next steps. It is also integral to the association's commitment to remain open to feedback, ensuring that all voices are heard during the process.

The Trek to Accreditation eNews has been sent on a regular basis to communicate developments specific to this project, and a Trek to Accreditation page has been created on the PATH Intl. website where you can read past newsletters and keep up to date on the process. Look for issues you might have missed, a members Q&A page, and read more here.

Community Connections Corner

community connections bannerThis month's featured Community Connections post is addressed to the Interactive Vaulting Community where a member asks:

Hi! I'm doing research about how therapeutic riding/interactive vaulting is beneficial for children (specifically) who have cerebral palsy. I'm interested in focusing on how therapeutic riding/vaulting has helped not only the children, but also the families of the children who ride/vault, specific beneficial practices, and equine selection. This is for a paper I'm writing for college. This is what I need for resources: "At least 5 sources, 3 of which should be from an academic, peer-reviewed journal article. Two or more can be newspaper articles from respected papers, such as the New York Times, or policy statements. Newspaper articles must be from the last 5 years." Please feel free to share and comment/PM me with information!

If you have any advice to help this member, please click here to log into Community Connections and join the discussion.
