Interactive Vaulting Terminology Update

In alignment with terminology used by other vaulting organizations and to more accurately reflect the variety of movements taught and tested, the PATH Intl. Interactive Vaulting Subcommittee has recommended that the term "compulsories" be replaced with "vaulting positions." All PATH Intl. Interactive Vaulting materials will be updated accordingly beginning in July 2016.

New this year: Reserve a table of 10 at the 2016 PATH Intl. Awards Banquet, November 4, 2016, for $50 per table. This non-refundable fee will benefit the PATH Intl. Disaster Relief Fund, which has been seriously depleted due to many requests this year, but it will also create a better system for tracking and assigning tables.

Please mark the table reservation on your online registration or on your registration form through October 10. (Don't forget to include the name(s) you would like on the table.) There will also be a signup sheet on site in Williamsburg at the registration desk through noon on Thursday, November 3. Phone confirmations will not be accepted.

PATH Intl./Wounded Warrior Project Partnership Update

PATH Intl. and Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) have enjoyed a partnership since 2011. In that time, PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Centers (PACs) have served more than 1,000 Wounded Warrior Project Alumni and have touched the lives of countless others associated with these veterans.

PATH Intl. has been informed by the WWP that they are in a period of reorganization and as such will not be able to fund the 2016/2017 scholarship process for any of their provider partners PATH Intl. will continue to foster, to the best of its ability, the relationship with WWP. As one of its longest standing provider partners, we hope once their leadership changes and the dust has settled within their organization that they will consider renewing the partnership. WWP has always given very positive feedback regarding their pleasure in the significant work PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Centers are doing to improve the lives of the WWP Alumni. Veteran participants themselves were in turn giving WWP incredible feedback about the profound influence equine-assisted activities and therapies were having on their lives. Hopefully these factors will contribute to a future continuation or renewal of a partnership. We promise to keep everyone posted as details become available.

Questions or comments, please contact Jeff Kelling, PATH Intl.  Manager of Programs and Education, (800) 369-7433, ext. 112.

Community Connections Corner

This Month's featured Community Connections post is addressed to the Instructor Community where a member asks:

We have been approached by a local family service provider to provide an equine learning experience for their staff (corporate learning). Does anyone have any written curriculum, or ideas that we can use with our horses to provide this type of experience? We do have a licensed councilor to help. Just looking for a road map of ideas from others who have been there done that. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have any advice to help this member, please click here to log into Community Connections and join the discussion.
