conference logoThe 2016 PATH Intl. Conference and Annual Meeting, presented by title sponsor Purina, will be November 2-5 in Williamsburg, VA. Registration will open in July, and the registration book will be included with the summer issue of PATH Intl. Strides.

New this year: Reserve a table of 10 at the 2016 PATH Intl. Awards Banquet, November 4, 2016, for $50 per table. This non-refundable fee will benefit the PATH Intl. Disaster Relief Fund, which has been seriously depleted due to the flooding this spring, but it will also create a better system for tracking and assigning tables.

Please mark the table reservation on your online registration or on your registration form through October 10. (Don't forget to include the name(s) you would like on the table.) There will also be a signup sheet on site in Williamsburg at the registration desk through noon on Thursday, November 3. Phone confirmations will not be accepted.

If you have questions, contact Jaime Covington.

Nominate PATH Intl. Membership Oversight Committee Representatives

PATH Intl. is seeking Membership Oversight Committee Region Representative nominations. The PATH Intl. annual nomination process for region representatives is underway. This year nominations are being accepted for even-numbered regions: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10.

PATH Intl. Region Representatives serve as ambassadors for the association and as the voice of their region's members. Responsibilities may include recruiting, retaining and recognizing members; collaborating with groups within and outside of PATH Intl. that can positively impact the success of PATH Intl. members; leading PATH Intl. recognition of center and individual members and participants; and helping coordinate states, regions and PATH Intl. communities into effective networking systems.

Click here for requirements and to download the nomination form, or download the form from the PATH Intl. corporate documents page. Nominations are due to the PATH Intl. office by July 15. If you prefer, you may print the nomination form, fill it in by hand and mail it to the PATH Intl. office. All handwritten nomination forms must be received in the office by July 15 in order for the nomination to be considered.

If you have any questions please contact Kimberly Price, PATH Intl. Region Networking Coordinator. Thank you to those nominees who are willing to contribute their time in representing the PATH Intl. members in their regions.

This month's post comes from the Instructor Community where a member asks:

Can anyone share plans for building a mounting block? This is for the able-bodied students who need minimal assistance. I'm looking for plans for a sturdy one that can be built from wood. Thanks!

If you have any plans you can share, or have other ideas for this member, please click here to join the conversation.

OSU Research Survey on Equine-Assisted Therapy

Daniel Stroud, PhD, (principal investigator) and Leif Hallberg, MA, LCPC, (co-investigator), both of Oregon State University, are conducting a research survey designed to assess the professional practice of equine-assisted therapy. The purpose is to gain an international understanding of professional competencies and practice patterns related to equine-assisted therapy. Your contribution is extremely valuable! Your unique approach to providing equine-assisted therapy will help researchers better understand cross-cultural similarities and differences and will provide them with critical data needed to understand the scope and breadth of this industry.

Eligible participants are healthcare professionals who have provided, or are currently providing, a form of equine-assisted therapy.

Click here to participate in this very important survey. Please consider forwarding this link to any colleagues you know who would also be willing to participate.

Thank you for your time and participation!
