The
Winners of the 2014 Equestrian and Region Awards!
|
|
A big congratulations to all the winners and nominees!
Every year, PATH
Intl. centers and members nominate the very best equestrians, certified
professionals, veterinarians, volunteers and equines serving at PATH
Intl. Centers, and we are pleased to announce the regional and
equestrian award winners. Each year becomes more difficult to choose
from among the outstanding nominations, once again demonstrating the
high quality of service our centers offer. We especially want to thank
all the nominators for their dedication in recognizing the achievements
of those in the EAAT field. A special thank you also to our judges for
making the difficult decisions. (Remember that nominations are
now accepted year round.)

PATH Intl. Region Award Winners here.

Does
Your Program Have Donkeys?
|
|
Lynn Petr,
director at Shangri-la Therapeutic Riding Academy, will be
representing EAAT at the Donkey Symposium at the University of
California - Davis this fall. STAR has two miniature donkeys in its
program but Lynn is hoping to get more examples of programs partnering
with donkeys industry wide. Let Lynn know if you currently use them or
tried in the past but do not now. She would like to gather as much
information as possible to truly represent this field...the good and
the bad. Send an email to Lynn Petr.

Equine
Tips From the PATH Intl. Equine Welfare Committee
|
|
Did
You See That?
By Cathy Languerand,
PATH Intl. Equine Welfare Committee Chair
One of the most important things we teach at our center's orientation for
new volunteers is how to see from the horse's perspective. Noticing where
the horse is looking and whether he is using one eye (monocular vision)
or both eyes (binocular vision) is an important skill to learn. Read more.
