Strategic Plan and NARHA/EFMHA Integration Update
In 2009 NARHA/EFMHA decided to fully integrate into one association representing all of our members and disciplines, including: riding, interactive vaulting, equine-facilitated psychotherapy, driving and equine-facilitated learning; basically, meeting our mission to promote excellence in equine-assisted activities. Now that we are committed to one association, we need one name. Professional research is underway to help us identify the best name options for the association.

World Caf-style discussions were held at each region conference in 2010 to create a dialogue about the association's future name, generate input from our members and other stakeholders and stimulate innovative thinking about our name. The first World Caf was held at the 2009 National Conference, and approximately 1,300 individuals to date have taken part in the discussion either in person or online.

The association is interested in getting comments and insight from each member and stakeholder. Therefore, we are presenting electronically the four questions that were posed in person. If you were unable to attend any of the conferences or have already participated but thought later of a point you'd like to make, please take part by clicking here to give us your valuable feedback.

Thank you in advance for engaging in this important process. We will keep you posted!

Have Fun and Raise Money for NARHA
image of auction gavelNARHA's silent auction is always a fun-filled and high demand event of the NARHA National Conference and Annual Meeting and this year's promises to be no different. Proceeds from the silent auction help NARHA and the hosting region support safety and professionalism in the community of special people and equines who offer equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT).
NARHA is looking for those wonderful people and businesses whose generosity will make this year's silent auction a resounding success. NARHA staff and volunteers are seeking premium silent auction items. Contributions will receive attention from all of the visitors in attendance--potentially more than 800 people. No contribution is too big or to small, so if you have jewelry you don't wear or sports equipment you don't use or you're looking for a way to promote your business, donate to the silent auction.
Download the Silent Auction form here or on NARHA's website. Use this form to donate to the silent auction or to donate items for the registration bags. Or give a form to someone you know who would love to donate to the cause of improving lives through equine-assisted activities and therapies.

For information, questions or to make a donation, email Diane Eshelman, Sandy McMahon or Cher Smith.
Donate a Region Basket to NARHA's Silent Auction
Photo of an empty NARHA basketThe excitement is growing for the 2010 NARHA National Conference and Annual Meeting sponsored by Purina.

Join the fun of donating a "Region Basket." Ask your region's members to add something in their suitcase that will make up a unique theme and offer fun in regional competition. Can't bring a basket from your region? We will have one waiting for you. You bring or send the fillers!

All donations will be tallied and logged in, allowing NARHA to track the region making the most donations. NARHA will recognize the most generous region with a special award for its members.

Gather your best unique donations and send them now! Click here and download and complete the donation form so that the silent auction committee will have the information they need and you will get the credit you deserve!

Art work, ski tickets, gift certificates, equipment, clothing, bed and breakfast weekends, no donation is too unique! The 2010 Silent Auction committee needs your help to make this the biggest and most profitable fundraising auction ever.
