NARHA Selects DonorPro as Its Fundraising Software |
|
NARHA is pleased to announce that it has selected
DonorPro, TowerCare Technologies web-based
nonprofit constituent management and fundraising
software, to manage its constituents and all of the
organizations that interact with NARHA. NARHA's use
of DonorPro builds on the relationship that was
established in August 2009 when TowerCare and NARHA
entered an agreement to offer purchasing discounts
of DonorPro to NARHA member centers. Several NARHA
member centers already use DonorPro.
"I heard from many of our member centers how using
DonorPro truly made an impact on their organizations,
from helping to raise more money to increasing
productivity," said NARHA CEO Kay Green.
"We have been working closely with NARHA members who
are seeing great results with DonorPro, including
increased funding from individual donors and corporate
sponsors," said TowerCare Technologies President Donna
Myers. "And now, we look forward to working closely
with the staff at NARHA to help them support the
missions of their member centers."

Tribute to Marjorie Vietor Kittredge |
|
NARHA
is sad to announce that Marjorie Vietor Kittredge,
86, of Boxford, Massachusetts, died peacefully on
June 23rd at her daughter's home in Vermont.
Believing in the power of the horse to change
lives, in 1964, with three horses and five
emotionally challenged/learning disabled students,
Marj partnered with The Gifford School for
Emotionally Disturbed Children to begin what is now
Windrush Farm Therapeutic Equitation, Inc.
Marj increased the number of classes
and expanded not only her own program but
therapeutic riding generally, being one of the
founders of NARHA.
Services were held at the Cochran Chapel in Andover
Massachusetts at 1 p.m. on July 6, 2010.

Look for Registration Booklet in Strides Magazine |
|
If
you have not already, NARHA members will receive their copies of
the summer NARHA's STRIDES magazine in the mail very
shortly. You won't want to miss the insert of the
registration booklet for the 2010 NARHA National Conference and
Annual Meeting. It will have detailed information about
the conference, including session descriptions, a tentative
schedule and, of course, a hard copy registration form for those
who do not wish to register online.
We think you will be delighted when you see the session
line-up. It is exceptional and fresh, and there is soemthing
for every interest. NARHA and the host committee are very
proud to present this event in our beautiful hometown. See
you there!
We noticed a pricing inconsistency in the registration
booklet for the mentor training, which could cause some
confusion. In light of this, we are honoring the lower
registration fee of $175 for members and $225 for
non-members for mentor training registration.
We are pleased to share a schedule update that will allow
members to complete two requirements needed to become a
NARHA Evaluator at this year's national conference. You will
now be able to attend both the Mentor Training and the
Evaluator Training in one location, so please note the
following schedule change:
Mentor Training:
Monday, November 1, noon to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, November 2, 7 a.m. to noon
Evaluator Training:
Tuesday, November 2, 12:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, November 3, 7 to 11 a.m.

Angel Foundation Places Three Horses |
|
The
American Gypsy Horse Angel Foundation works in partnership
with the American Gypsy Horse Breed Association to place Gypsy
horses into EAAT centers. The Angel Foundation received 41
applications for the Spring 2010 Gypsy Angel awards. Centers
of all sizes from all over the U.S., offering a wide range of
equine programs to their clients, applied.
Because they received so many highly qualified applicants,
the Angel Foundation made the decision to place THREE
Gypsy Angels this Spring!
The foundation, which only awards horses to NARHA
centers, awarded Gypsy Angels to J.F. Shea Therapeutic
Riding Center in San Juan Capistrano, CA; Hearts & Horses
Therapeutic Riding Center in Loveland, CO; and National
Ability Center in Park City, UT.
Please join us in congratulating these three centers, and
best wishes to your new team members!

Thanks to You, WE DID IT! |
|
Because
of you, Purina is donating an additional $10,000 to NARHA!
Our wonderful friends at Purina are hosting an online contest to
pick two "blog-o-spondents" to report live from the FEI World
Equestrian Games in Lexington. Voters could vote for their
favorite -- and for every five votes that Purina received, they
would donate $1 to NARHA, up to $10,000. And thanks to you, that
goal was reached long before the deadline!
Purina is a Platinum level sponsor of the 2010 NARHA National
Conference and Annual Meeting in Denver November 3-6.

Join NARHA's Click4Cash |
|
We
are having a lot of fun and generating public interest for the
EAAT industry through NARHA's partnership with Equestrian
Collections. Nearly 100 NARHA centers are enjoying receiving
their proceeds checks in the mail for the purchases their
communities have made through their websites. To keep the fun
rolling, Equestrian Collections will give one lucky center a
$100 gift certificate for joining the NO COST program. They will
announce the recipient in the June 2nd edition of NARHA News.
Click here and follow the steps to join.
We have created
a shopping area on Equestrian Collections for EAAT-focused
products, but your shoppers can shop the entire site,
maximizing the potential revenue for your center. All you have
to do is get shoppers to click on your Shop & Change a
Life button before they do the regular shopping they
would do anyway. Once you have signed up, you will receive an
email with step-by-step instructions for how to retrieve the
Shop & Change a Life banner to place on your center's website.
Any questions? Please email
Stephanie and reference CLICK4CASH in the subject line.
